## result

the 6 benchmark briefs now have deterministic input mappings for the live name picker and logo maker taxonomies. this is mapping evidence, not output evidence and not a scored benchmark run.

no generation action was started. no paid account was used. the public pages were loaded anonymously, but the buttons that call model-backed endpoints were not pressed.

## source state

- the live `/name` and `/kit` pages returned `200` on 2026-07-18.
- the name picker uses taxonomy version `0.4` from `src/content/name-picker/name-tags.json`.
- the logo maker uses taxonomy version `0.1` from `src/content/brand-kit/taxonomy.json`.
- every name mapping below contains 5 to 12 exact, non-legacy labels, spans at least 3 sections, uses no more than 3 labels per section, and includes both a personal-context section and a cultural-reference section.
- every logo mapping below contains 9 exact tile ids: 2 letter-world picks, 1 pick from each other required cluster, and 1 optional anti-reference pick.

## public interface evidence

## name picker mapping

all values are exact public or allowlisted taxonomy labels. section ids are included because the diversity validator operates on them.

| brief id | exact selected labels | rule check |
|---|---|---|
| `skincare-gen-z` | `brands: rhode`, `brands: aesop`, `brands: miu miu`, `aesthetics: clean utility`, `posture: quietly expensive`, `rituals: hotel lobby at midnight`, `camera: bathroom mirror flash`, `places: new york`, `places: los angeles`, `places: miami` | 10 labels, 6 sections, personal yes, cultural yes |
| `ai-finance-b2b` | `aesthetics: clean utility`, `aesthetics: modern prep`, `algorithm: substack`, `screen: succession`, `posture: private not secret`, `posture: underproduced confidence`, `places: london`, `camera: museum wall label` | 8 labels, 6 sections, personal yes, cultural yes |
| `boutique-hospitality` | `brands: the standard`, `aesthetics: hotelcore`, `aesthetics: surf noir`, `screen: lost in translation`, `rituals: hotel bar`, `rituals: beach club before opening`, `camera: point-and-shoot flash`, `posture: low-key famous` | 8 labels, 6 sections, personal yes, cultural yes |

translation notes:

- `skincare-gen-z`: 5 taste signals and all 3 audience cities map exactly. `hotel bathroom at midnight` is represented by the nearest 2 live labels, `hotel lobby at midnight` and `bathroom mirror flash`.
- `ai-finance-b2b`: `private not secret` and `london` map exactly. quiet authority maps to `underproduced confidence`; modernist publishing maps to `substack` and `museum wall label`. blackened steel has no defensible name-tag equivalent.
- `boutique-hospitality`: the standard, lost in translation, hotel bar, point-and-shoot flash, low-key famous, and beach club before opening map exactly. `hotelcore` and `surf noir` carry the intimate coastal setting.
- `streetwear-label`: all 6 taste signals map exactly. `grailed`, `r/streetwear`, and `london` carry the apparel, audience, and market context without inventing labels.
- `wellness-consumer`: pilates, cold plunge, farmers market, soft power, and copenhagen map exactly. warm simplicity maps to `aloof but warm` plus `clean utility`.
- `b2b-saas-operations`: clean utility, underproduced confidence, modern prep, and known by the right people map exactly. `museum wall label` and `airport gate` are the nearest available references for graphite documentation and practical operating systems.

## logo maker mapping

the `name` field uses the canonical synthetic test labels below. each label is test text only, not a recommendation, availability result, ownership claim or naming-benchmark winner. because these labels were not selected from naming output, `brand-continuity` remains excluded from scoring.

|---|---|
| `skincare-gen-z` | `morrow` |
| `ai-finance-b2b` | `north ledger` |
| `boutique-hospitality` | `late tide` |
| `streetwear-label` | `yardshift` |
| `wellness-consumer` | `still kind` |
| `b2b-saas-operations` | `dayframe` |

all logo mappings assume the live beta's fixed output constraint: platinum `#EFEFEF` on ink black `#000411`. the light selection may shape contrast and mood, but it does not change those 2 output colors.

## no-spend boundary

the following actions were deliberately not taken:

- `/api/name` was not called. the handler sends model requests through OpenRouter, runs 3 hedged attempts per round, and may run a second round. after a successful first result, the browser also starts a second batch prefetch automatically.
- `/api/kit/suggest` was not called. both the all-board and per-cluster `choose for me` controls call an OpenRouter text model.
- `/api/kit/build` was not called. it starts 3 image directions through OpenRouter and may fall back to a second image model per failed direction.
- `/api/kit/direct` was not called. it calls the model-backed art-director layer.
- `/api/kit/resolve` is deterministic and contains no model call, but it was not needed for this mapping-only pass. its logic was inspected locally.

the 2 screenshots show only public interfaces before selection or generation. they contain no generated names, logos, exports, private account state, or user data.

## evidence gaps and scoring status

- there are no first result sets, shortlisted names, rationales, handles, domain suggestions, iteration results, logo directions, png exports, or generated brand-kit prompt files for AI brand scaler in this no-spend pass.
- no naming, logo, or brand-kit dimension can receive an output-quality score from taxonomy mapping alone.
- `/name` accepts taste labels only. it does not accept the canonical brief's working description, audience, positioning, constraints, or required-output count. its production prompt currently fixes clothing and fashion, a direct-to-consumer shopify store, a us audience aged 18 to 28, instagram, and tiktok. brief adherence outside that fixed context remains untested.
- `/kit` accepts a name and taxonomy selections, with optional inherited name-context tags and a born-for note. it does not accept the canonical brief as free text. the canonical synthetic labels permit identical text-integrity tests across tools, but they cannot support a brand-continuity score.
- the logo destination list has no bottle or primary packaging option, so the skincare mapping uses `tote bag` as the nearest consumer artifact. this does not prove packaging fitness.
- the name taxonomy has no defensible equivalent for every negative constraint. banned words, medical-claim limits, employee counts, sales-call pronunciation, and other written constraints remain unsupported inputs.
- one reviewer has mapped the inputs. no blind output review occurred. confidence for the mapping is medium; confidence for output quality is unknown.

recommended dataset state: mark AI brand scaler as `partial`, publish the mappings and shared interface evidence, set every output-dependent score to excluded or unscored, and do not display a normalized total. a future run can attach output evidence to the same brief and mapping ids without changing the page structure.

## implemented typed records

the public dataset now carries structured input mappings, evidence scope, execution state, access cost, authentication, locale, excluded dimensions, confidence and computed score state.

records for this pass:

- 12 stable `BenchmarkInputMapping` ids: 6 for `/name` taxonomy `0.4`, and 6 for `/kit` taxonomy `0.1`. the logo and brand-kit records share the same `/kit` mapping id for each brief.
- 2 shared public interface evidence records using `scope.kind = 'tool-interface'` and all 6 brief ids, plus this mapping manifest.
- 18 published mapped-only run records: 6 naming, 6 logo and 6 brand-kit records. every record has `rawScore = null`, `normalizedScore = null`, zero spend and explicit exclusions.
- 1 partial tool record. both live surfaces are recorded, and no output strength, score or recommendation is inferred from ungenerated output.

## later evidence attachment

when model use is authorized, keep the mapping ids stable. add the first visible result set, editorial shortlist, one name iteration, first 3 logo directions, exported files, reviewer decisions, and file digests as new evidence records. replace exclusions only for dimensions the new evidence actually supports. replace the synthetic logo test labels only in a new benchmark version if continuity with selected naming output becomes part of the procedure.
